Many thanks to Cristian Tavernaro, the proprietor of Albergo Vezzana at Passo Rolle, an accomplished skier, rock climber, hiker, and marathoner, who hosted me as his guest in the hotel for a week in March 2005, fed me delicious food, and opened my eyes to the beauty of the Dolomites. Thank you, Cris!
